Not a different face. Your face, restored.
A deep plane facelift does not alter — it returns. Where gravity and time have displaced the structures of the face, this procedure repositions them: not pulling, not tightening, but lifting along the vectors and planes that ageing applied to leave its mark.
Rested, vital, serene
Facial ageing is not, as commonly believed, primarily a loss of volume — it is a descent of it. The fat pads, muscles, and soft tissues of the face are held in place by a network of facial ligaments which, over time, gradually yield to the combined forces of gravity, movement, and the slow depletion of soft tissue elasticity. Cheeks flatten and fall. Nasolabial folds deepen. Jowls form along the jawline. The face becomes heavier below and hollower above — not because volume has disappeared, but because it has moved downward.
A deep plane facelift addresses this at its source. By working beneath the superficial muscle layer — the SMAS — and releasing the facial ligaments that hold the face in its aged position, Greg is able to reposition the descended structures vertically, returning them to where they once sat naturally.

The skin, relieved of tension, follows without being pulled. The result is a face that looks younger without looking altered — rested, vital, and serene.
A Deep Plane Facelift is an advanced, complex procedure. It is, however, the most anatomically correct one — and for a patient who is ready for genuine, lasting rejuvenation rather than further temporary measures, it represents the most natural result available.

Understanding the Deep Plane Facelift procedure
Surgery begins with precisely placed incisions, positioned along the natural contours of the hairline and around the ear where they will be rendered effectively invisible as healing progresses. Greg understood very early the importance of inconspicuous scars. He completed his PhD on that topic and carries the responsibility to make his work invisible into every single case. Through these incisions, Greg then enters the deep plane — a naturally occurring gliding zone beneath the SMAS layer — and carefully releases the facial ligaments that anchor the descended tissues in their aged position. This ligament release is the defining step of the procedure: it is what distinguishes a deep plane facelift from every more superficial technique, and it is what allows the tissues to be repositioned without tension rather than simply tightened against their own resistance. The descended fat volumes and soft tissues of the midface, cheeks, and lower face are then elevated vertically — returned to the anatomical position they held in youth — and secured without strain. In most cases Greg also addresses the lowered tails of the brows which need repositioning after lifting of the cheeks.
The skin envelope is smoothly redraped over the restored underlying architecture, any minimal excess is removed, and the incisions are closed with the same precision and care applied to every stage that preceded them. Where anatomy indicates, the procedure is extended to include the neck, addressing the platysma and deeper cervical structures to ensure that the jawline and neck are in complete harmony with the rejuvenated face above.
Assessing your suitability
Considering a facelift is frequently governed by a quiet dissonance that over time became too loud to ignore. Your face no longer reflects how you feel and that discrepancy has become something you are unwilling to simply accept.
Deep plane facelift surgery is not a procedure preserved for a particular age, and neither should it define you as aged: Greg considers candidacy not on the basis of years, but on the basis of anatomy — the presence of descended volumes, softened facial contours, jowl formation, deepened folds, or a loss of definition between face and neck that no injectable or energy-based treatment has been able to adequately address.
Most patients present between their forties and sixties, though candidates in their late thirties with early but meaningful descent are equally well served — and those who act earlier benefit from surgery on stronger, younger tissues, longer-lasting results and a recovery that tends to be smoother. What matters far more than age is overall health: candidates must be non-smokers, or willing to abstain from smoking for a minimum of six weeks before and after surgery, and free from medical conditions that significantly impair healing. Any medications, blood thinners, or supplements are reviewed in advance as part of the consultation process.

REASONS
Why undergo a Deep Plane Facelift
You might seek a deep plane facelift if you identify with any of the following:
You have noticed the lower face beginning to descend — cheeks that have lost their contour, deepening folds from nose to mouth, jowls beginning to blur the jawline — and temporary measures such as fillers or injectables are no longer providing a result you find satisfying
You feel that your face no longer reflects your energy or vitality — that the person looking back at you appears heavier, older, or more tired than you feel — and you are seeking a genuine, lasting correction rather than further maintenance
You have had a previous facelift and are dissatisfied with the result — either because it was too conservative, too superficial, or has simply not endured — and you are ready for an approach that addresses the underlying anatomy rather than the surface alone
You are in your late thirties or forties and have begun to see early but meaningful signs of facial descent; you would rather address them now, from a position of good skin quality and tissue health, than allow them to progress to a point where correction becomes more complex
Recovery & aftercare
Recovery is gradual and carefully guided. Greg and his team support you through every stage,
ensuring healing progresses safely and confidently.
ensuring healing progresses safely and confidently.
First 2 Weeks
A light supportive dressing is applied immediately after surgery. Swelling and bruising are expected during the first week and steadily improve, with most patients feeling comfortable returning to everyday social activities by the end of the second week.
Weeks 4–6
Strenuous exercise should be avoided while tissues continue to heal. Protecting your skin from the sun is essential to support optimal scar maturation.
Months 3–6
As swelling fully resolves and tissues settle, the final result gradually emerges. By around three months, the rejuvenation becomes apparent to others, and by six months, the face looks completely natural and entirely your own.
Ongoing care
Regular follow-up appointments at six weeks, three, six, and twelve months allow Greg to monitor your progress, answer questions, and ensure every stage of recovery receives the same attention as the surgery itself.
Throughout your recovery, Greg and his team remain in close contact to guide every stage of healing. Every milestone is carefully monitored to ensure your recovery receives the same attention and precision as your surgery.
RESULTS
Results of Deep Plane Facelift surgery
The results of a deep plane facelift are, above all, natural — and they are natural because the procedure follows the natural gliding planes of anatomy and vectors of ageing rather than working against it. Descended volumes are returned to where they once sat; the face is not pulled, stretched, or filled into a new shape, but restored to a version of itself that is recognisably younger and measurably more vital. The nasolabial folds soften. The cheeks recover their contour. The jawline reasserts itself. Eyes do not look tired or moody any longer. The neck, sits in elegant relationship with the face above it.
What patients notice — and what those around them sense without being able to explain — is not that something has been done, but that something has been returned.

The face looks rested, refreshed, and entirely itself. Your face appears vital and open, your eyes might even radiate this new energy as regained confidence. Because the correction is structural rather than superficial, based on thoughtful repositioning of tissues where needed, the results are lasting in a way that no temporary measure can replicate. Ageing continues — it always does — but it does so from a restored foundation, and the face that emerges from this procedure tends to remain ahead of its biological age for many years to come.
